Anti Wall Street demonstrator Block Brooklyn Bridge in New York

Police reopen the Brooklyn Bridge, New York, which had closed the mass demonstrations of anti-Wall Street, the world’s largest stock exchange. The bridge was reopened after police detained 400 people who blocked the bridge for the rest of Saturday, October 1, 2011.

Detention is done when a large group of demonstrators who had acted in the second week in motion “Wall Street Rule” is to break away from the other demonstrators and then blocked the Brooklyn Bridge.

“Approximately 400 people were arrested at the Brooklyn Bridge at dusk after a series of warnings from the police who asked them to stay on the pedestrian path,” said a police spokesman as reported by Reuters.

“Some people docile and take the pedestrian pathway without being held. Several others were holding hands and continue to master the bridge. They are in custody.” At 20:05 local time, before the road re-opened.

Some demonstrators tried to escape from handcuffs visible apparatus. Those arrested were taken by bus.

Meanwhile, protesters are already in action since at 15:30, set up camp at Zuccotti Park in downtown Manhattan. They are determined to continue to hang in there all winter.
